Aleya Nailor
The first thing I want to acknowledge is that it takes courage and vulnerability to engage in therapy.
I consider it a privilege to be able to do this work, and my purpose is to facilitate a
service for growth and learning that can hold space for you with hope, compassion, and
connection as we walk this path together.
I am keen to help you seek opportunities for growth from change and life events. Pregnancy and parenthood. Grief and loss. Relationships and marriage. Career transitions. Accidents or illness. It can be really hard to see your way through these significant (and sometimes unexpected) milestones when you’re in the thick of it, especially if you’re not sure which way to go.
Connecting with someone who can help you understand your feelings, validate them,
and provide the right tools to deal with them can help these moments feel more
manageable. It is incredibly fulfilling for me to witness someone learn how to heal from their past, thrive in the present, and move towards their future with clarity and a sense of
empowerment.
My practice is holistic and culturally-sensitive, using a strengths-based approach with an
emphasis on connecting your mind to your body. We will collaborate on goals and use
approaches that you are comfortable with to meet your unique needs. I will use my
education, professional and lived experience to bring the knowledge, skills, and tools to
support you through any highs and lows along the way.
I strive to practice with compassion, openness and respect for all people – my goal during our time together is that you should feel safe, positive, and welcome to be yourself. And that you will feel empowered to recognize your strengths as you learn to express, process, and move through life events.
About Aleya
I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling, specializing in Vocational Rehabilitation, from the University of British Columbia, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I am currently completing my certification to become a Canadian Certified Perinatal Mental Health Clinician.
When I’m not working or studying, I love to spend my time jumping into group fitness classes, or going on weekend excursions with my family, exploring all the coffee hotspots and beautiful places that our island has to offer.
